On an oak tree near a corner of Melkinthorpe Wood north of Great Strickland 1 mile east of M6 + A6.

Observation:
On a poplar tree growing where the small oak stood at the corner of the wood.
Visually point 10 looks unchanged however since the trees are the same height as 1971 apparently the whole wood has been clear felled, replanted with spruce and grown back to the height it was 40 years ago.
The field is still under grass in which the solitary oak still stands. The wooden electricity poles that cross the field were renewed about 2006.
The two uprooted tree stumps (oak and scots pine?) are still next to the fence by the gate.
